ABOUT TRUE COLORS INTERNATIONAL
We understand how culture works.
Culture is easy to describe and harder to sustain. Most organizations can define their values. The real challenge is making those values show up consistently in daily decisions, team interactions, hiring choices, and leadership behavior. That is the work we support.
Where it started.
True Colors began more than 45 years ago through the work of Don Lowry. He developed the original True Colors methodology and assessment to help people understand differences in communication, motivation, and behavior. The model created a shared starting point that teams could remember and use.
As organizations applied the work, something became clear. Insight opens the door.
It does not sustain culture. Culture is shaped by patterns. It is reinforced through consistent behavior over time.
What we have learned about culture.
After decades of working with organizations, schools, and leadership teams, one pattern stands out. Culture drifts when leadership is inconsistent.
Culture weakens when expectations are unclear.
Culture erodes when reinforcement fades. Strong cultures look different. Leaders communicate expectations clearly.
Hiring reflects alignment with role and purpose.
Conflict is addressed early.
Development continues beyond a single event.
Behavior is reinforced consistently. Culture is not an initiative. It is a pattern.
How True Colors evolved.
What began as a personality-based methodology expanded into a complete system that supports culture across the full lifecycle. Organizations asked for more than awareness. They needed structured leadership development, stronger hiring alignment and reinforcement practices that could be sustained internally. They needed consistency across teams and departments.
True Colors International grew to meet that need. Today, we help leaders and organizations align expectations and reinforce the behaviors that turn cultural priorities into consistent action.
How we work.
True Colors is used anywhere people and culture matter. We support corporations, schools, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and community-based groups.
We also support certified facilitators who carry this work forward inside their own organizations. Some organizations begin with a shared foundation. Others come to us when culture is inconsistent, when growth creates strain, or when leadership habits need strengthening. We help leaders choose the right next step, build a clear path forward, and reinforce what works so progress lasts.
Our role.
True Colors International stewards the True Colors system and supports the people who apply it. We bring structure to cultural work. We help leaders align expectations and reinforce the behaviors that shape everyday experience.
When behavior is consistent, culture becomes clear. When culture is clear, performance becomes more predictable and sustainable.
